Default My new plague build. Advice please.

Hi everyone,

I've been playing GW for a few months now and I created a build I haven't seen anywhere before. I was wondering if all you experts would give me some pointers to improve the build. But please, no flaming. If you can't be constructive, you needn't respond. This build is meant for PvE only.

Curses: 12+1+2
Soul Reaping: 11+2
Water Magic: 6
Fire Magic: 2
[skill]Foul Feast[/skill][skill]Burning Speed[/skill][skill]Plague Signet[/skill][skill]Steam[/skill][skill]Slippery Ground[/skill][skill]Insidious Parasite[/skill][skill]Enfeeble[/skill][skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill]
*Foul Feast, Plague Signet and Enfeeble descriptions are incorrect*

Basically, the idea is to take the conditions from my teammates with FF and then chain 2,3,4,5. Insidious Parasite is a both a healing skill as a melee shutdown, especially when combined with Enfeeble. I use a major Soul Reaping rune because it's the breakpoint for getting 3 energy per condition from FF instead of 2.

This seems to work really well with party members that have skills that inflict a condition on themselves, like [skill]Headbutt[/skill]. Since IP and Enfeeble are anti-melee, my heroes usually contain at least one heavy-interrupt mesmer, who also carries [skill]Epidemic[/skill].

So, any suggestions? I'm not an incredibly experienced player, but I'm willing to learn.

I'd rather take glyph of immolation if you want to burn/blind. I'm not sure SolS is really needed either.

I'd say that [plague sending] wins over signet.
That also opens up room for your elite - which can then be SS.
Ohh and [Enfeebling Blood] over Enfeeble in PvE.

if the point of your build is the burning. blind. knockdown then : [skill]glyph of immolation[/skill] is your best bet imo.

if its condition transfer then something like this is king:

[skill]Martyr[/skill][skill]Plague Sending[/skill][skill]Signet of Agony[/skill]

not having to target and greater flexibility in attribute point spending.

having a teammate take [skill]fragility[/skill] is always good.

*shrugs*

I would prefer to delegate a Plague Signet/Foul Feast job to a hero.

There is a positive aspect of Signet as compared to Sending and that is no sacrifice, faster recharge plus ability to transfer Daze off you (not too fun with Sending.)

positively creative! I'll give ya that much. I love creative builds. Never woulda thought of Burning speed + condition transfer. No recharge means permanent Burning which is cool.

But sadly, it's a bit lacking and kind of cramped. Keep on thinking though. I like your train of thought.

I like the concept but I am confused about one point.

The OP build has foul feast and also says
"Basically, the idea is to take the conditions from my team mates with FF"

But foul feast doesn't do that its usable on a foe not team mate and doesn't transfer conditions it steals health.

Or am I missing something here.

Yes, the description is outdated
Foul feast now transfers conditions

[skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill][skill]Glyph of Immolation[/skill][skill]Virulence[/skill][skill]Steam[/skill][skill]Slippery Ground[/skill][skill]Fetid Ground[/skill][skill]Putrid Bile[/skill][skill]Vile Miasma[/skill]

heres a build that i sometimes use in both pve and pvp with some minor variations.

having [skill]fragility[/skill] on your team is always good obviously.

There are quite a few variations you can do on this but the above one is good fun i find.
of course if you meet a player using builds like previously mentioned you'll find yourself eating your own hat.

@sleeper:the build inflicts burning on himself, plague sending sacrifice is pretty dangerous to use in that case.[plague signet] is definately the way to go

Thanks for all the replies.

The reason I choose [skill]Plague Signet[/skill] over [skill]Plague Sending[/skill] is the fact that Plague Signet extends conditions with 200%. With Burning Speed, this sets the enemy on fire for (5-1)x3=12 seconds. Using Plague Sending does open up my elite slot though, so I'm gonna give that one a try.

[skill]Glyph of Immolation[/skill] is a great skill, but I think that's not a skill a necro should use except for maybe the mentioned [skill]Virulence[/skill]. I'll give that one a try too.

I'm not a fan of [skill]Martyr[/skill]. It takes an elite slot, has a high recharge time and doesn't provide health and energy like [skill]Foul Feast[/skill]. It's useful against Disease though.

[skill]Enfeebling Blood[/skill] over [skill]Enfeeble[/skill]. I'll give that a try too, but I think you have a good point in swapping this one.

If you have any more suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Calista is right, plague sending will probably make your build too high in energy requirement as well as tricky with the sac.
Whats more, what you said makes a lot of sense. -Edit : uh unless it was also changed to sac 10% energy 1 ?

Martyrs real benefit is that it takes all the conditions of your team and gives them to you in a nice little bundle at long range without targeting.
and commenting on that i suppose it could use a little buff in pve (shorter recharge time?)

10% sac 1e 1sec cast 5sec recharge now on [plague sending] and has a max of 3 conditions transferred less than 18 curses

To further throw a bone out there, this isn't a bad build, though it seems more suited for low-level PvP.

There are generally better options for causing KD than the combo you are using which is very slot-intense. However, it's pretty neat.

I'd switch Enfeeble for Enfeebling Blood and Insidious Parasite for Reckless Haste for PvE.

I like the combo of [[Plague Signet] and [[Burning Speed]. Nice one!

[[Foul Feast] > [[Martyr] definately.

So I guess this might be a nice build:

[build prof=N/E box curses=12+1+2 soulreaping=9+1 water=8 fire=5 blood=2+1][Burning Speed][Plague Signet][Steam][Slippery Ground][Signet Of Agony][Foul Feast][Vile Miasma][Enfeebling Blood][/build]

Bleeding, burning, blinding, weakness, knockdown, anti melee, low energy. Looks pretty good to me.

Why not? Extra degen ftw! Just theorycrafting really.

No, its signet of agony which inflicts bleeding as well.

I tried a similar build without any elly spells in RA after the necro buffs were made, but condtition sending and removal alone is very weak and does about the same thing as:

[skill]conjure nightmare[/skill][skill]foul feast[/skill]

Plus you have another 6 free slots for something more useful then a single skill to cause bleeding and another to transfer it to your foe. Thats right, you just saved two whole skill slots that were being used for making yourself bleed and sending -3 degen to your foe, which the enemy monk then just usues [skill]dismiss condition[/skill] to heal.

Dont get me wrong, it is a creative and fun idea, but it is incredibly weak and useless, especially if the enemy team has a monk, plus it has no damage or direct healing, so I dont get the point.
